A look at Shawn Michaels' 2012 WWE Raw return and his future heading into WrestleMania 28

Shawn Michaels just doesn't seem to be able to leave the WWE alone, does he? The man who was retired at the hands of The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26 two years ago has since returned to the WWE on several occasions. The unexpected returns of Shawn Michaels however all have one thing in common - they are all directly related to his best friend and former D-Generation X tag-team partner. Let's take a look at two of the biggest scenarios involving Michaels' returns in the past few years:

1) To declare Undertaker vs. Triple H at WrestleMania 27





Shawn Michaels originally announced his plans to return to the WWE one year ago. When he did, he made it evidently clear that he was only there for Triple H and The Undertaker, and he even went as far as to get involved with the feud between his best friend and the man that ended his career. Michaels went on to become a spiritual tutor in a way to Triple H in order to prepare him for his WrestleMania epic against "The Deadman". Of course, when WrestleMania 27 came to pass, Triple H failed to end Undertaker's WrestleMania streak and he instead fell victim to the wrath of "The Phenom". Triple H's disappearance also saw Michaels once again disappear from the WWE.

2) To further the feud between Kevin Nash and Triple H in late 2011





When Triple H returned to the WWE in mid 2011, another familiar face returned alongside him. This was none other than ring legend "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash. However, a short while later, Shawn Michales also made a return to be a part of the feud. This is not exactly a surprise considering the trio are members of the controversial "Kliq" and are all best friends. It was Kevin Nas that returned when Triple H and Shawn Michaels feuded back in 2003 so this, in a way, was like changing roles. However, if you look at it with the rest of the facts, you could quite easily decipher that perhaps Shawn Michaels is somewhat obsessed with Triple H, thus justifying yet another return...

A simple look at the aforementioned headings of this Hub will show you perhaps a more sinister message if you read between the lines. Shawn Michaels and Triple H have indeed been great allies over the years, but they have also been greater enemies above all else. Could Shawn Michales be harbouring a more evil motive in regards to his WWE return on tonight's edition of Monday Night Raw? Shawn Michaels has been a king of the swerve in the past, and he certainly has more than one reason to make a WWE return in time for WrestleMania 28, let's look at some possible scenarios for when "The Heartbreak Kid" makes his WWE return...

To mentor Triple H to victory against "The Phenom"

A very likely scenario is also the most logical of all, but when it comes to Shawn Michaels, you never really know. The most likely scenario is that Shawn Michaels is out to seek retribution against The Undertaker, but in what form and how will he seek to do it? Last year, Shawn Michaels announced that if anyone can defeat The Undertaker and end his iconic WrestleMania win streak, it is Triple H that can do it. Triple H however came so close and then fell to "The Phenom's" wrath. Perhaps Shawn Michaels will make his WWE return tonight to once again tutor Triple H and convince him to prepare for the fight of his life, so that he can finally end The Undertaker's iconic legacy.

To return to the ring to face Undertaker at WrestleMania 28

Arguably a dream scenario for countless wrestling fans and the entire WWE Universe would be for Shawn Michaels to announce his plans to return to the ring. Shawn has been very vocal about how he misses wrestling and how he sometimes wishes he could resume his career. With that being said, perhaps his retirement can be reversed, but only by one man: The Undertaker, the very man that retired him. Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker 3 would certainly sense shocks all over the world and it would most certainly become one of the most highly anticipated matches of all time. Also, it has to be said, that considering The Undertaker has his 20-0 on the line, there really isn't anyone more suitable to challenge that 210-0 than "Mr. WrestleMania" himself, Shawn Michaels.

To challenge Triple H to a "him or me" match at WrestleMania 28





Since the challenge was laid down by The Undertaker, Triple H has been very vocal about how the match simply isn't going to happen. He has stated that he doesn't want to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 28. This was followed by The Undertaker declining "The Game's" rejection and stating that the match will happen anyway. Then, out of nowhere, Shawn Michaels announced he was returning to confront Triple H on the February 13th Raw Supershow, but for what? Presumably, it is simply to pep-talk Triple H into accepting the match...

However, what if HBK gives Triple H an ultimatum? If HHH accepts the match with Undertaker, he stands a chance at ending Undertaker's 20-0 and going down in history as the man that ended Undertaker's legacy. However, if he doesn't accept the match, he has to put his career on the line against Shawn Michaels, in what would most certainly be a fitting way for both Triple H and Shawn Michaels to finally end both of their illustrious careers once and for all.



It goes without saying that Shawn Michaels is one of the most highly decorated superstars of all time, but he is also one of the most controversial and the most famous in regards to shocking and ground breaking moments. Shawn Michaels is the man that ended the career of "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and he then went on to have his own career ended at the hands of The Undertaker. Both have been epic, world changing moments in the world of professional wrestling, and he has been involved in so many more over the years, too many to even count - but could "The Showstopper" have one more ground breaking announcement in him and if so, what will it be?

Whether Shawn Michaels is making his WWE return simply to pep-talk Triple H going into his match at WrestleMania 28 against The Undertaker, or whether Shawn Michaels wants one more chance to call himself "Mr. WrestleMania" on the grandest stage of them all against his greatest friend, Triple H, or his greatest enemy, The Undertaker; one thing is certainly for sure - Shawn Michaels is back in the WWE for a reason, and the world will find out what that reason is on the February 13th edition of Monday Night Raw!
