Commercial diet programs: A major nutrition & health issue
69The best diet programs
What is the best diet program?
Diet programs are one of the most commercially available ways of losing weight. This is because the mainstream media endorses them and sees the issue or weight loss, nutrition tips and nutrition and health issues as a means of making money and profiting. This is the reason that you often see major mainstream celebrities releasing their own diet books, workout videos or health and fitness awareness ads.
Of course, one question that always crops up in reference to these commercial diet programs is, do they actually work?
The answer is: It varies from person to person.
One statement that always creeps into the mind of workout enthusiasts is; “once you are on a diet, you are on a diet for life”. The fact of the matter is, if you want to lose weight, you have to eat to lose weight and you also have to exercise to lose weight. You cannot have one without the other simply because there is no way that you can physically meet your weightloss goals or aspirations. You have to diet to lose weight and you have to exercise to lose weight. You have to burn those calories.
Why diet programs are a major nutrition and health issue
This is why most diet programs are a waste of money. They will tell you that if you eat a certain way then you will lose weight and that they have the results to prove it. They probably do, but what they don’t tell you is that their diet plan alone will not make you lose weight. Those that put the diet program to the test are often weight loss enthusiasts that are motivated to getting into the jeans from their teenage years or getting a slimmer look or figure ready for the summer months. These are the men and women that not only follow the diet program but also work out regularly, sometimes on a daily basis.
This is why commercial diet programs are technically a major nutrition and health issue. People that follow them could become addicted to them but not be educated in the fact that they also have to exercise. When they do not lose the weight that they think they will after a month or so of following the diet program, they could lose motivation all together and pig out even more on junk food and foods full of saturated fats and gain even more weight becoming less healthy than they were when they started.
Alternatively, diet programs could become a major health and nutrition issue due to the fact that people can become so addicted to them that they do not know when to stop. They could stay on the diet program forever, spend all of their money, exercise regularly and become too thin rather than their ideal weight. The diet program can get a hold of you to the point where it becomes an addiction almost like a drug. It is literally like an edible, commercially endorsed prescription and medication situation that you seemingly have no way out of and when you see a celebrity endorsement guarantee, especially if it is one of your favourites, it can become harder and harder to quit the diet program.
The reality of diet programs and weightloss plans
The reality of the situation is that if you want to lose weight, you can lose weight. You just need to put the effort into doing so and you do not need any fancy diet programs or weight loss techniques from “weight loss experts” or “celebrity weightloss endorsements”.
The best diet program in the world is your own.
Sit down and think about your realistic weight loss goals. Plan your targets and your deadlines, rid your cupboards of junk food and highly calorific food that is full of saturated fats, invest some strictly scheduled time into meals and exercising and over time, you will realize that you really do not need any fancy commercial diet programs or celebrity diet plans, nor even a gym membership. You just need a strong will, a motivation to lose weight and a dedication and a passion to succeeding in your own personal weight loss goals.
NOTE: Remember to always check with your doctor, a GP, a health professional or a weight loss expert before starting a diet program or plan for the sake of your own healt, fitness and wellbeing.

Enjoyed this very much! I was literally just talking with someone yesterday about how media endorses weight loss and the fact that our "unfit" country cannot even afford to lose weight. Every diet program, weight loss medicine, and low calorie meal at the grocer is priced well above any other food items. The media has such an influence over those who are truly unhappy with themselves which in turn, causes them to shell out money to lose weight and look like "Kim Kardashian" Bravo.. voted up!
