Live from Dusseldorf, the Eurovision Song contest shows a film where they turned an enormous football stadium into an arena for the Eurovision 2011. The entire transformation took 6 weeks but the presenters state that we are allowed to see the transformation in sixty seconds. It is a sped up video of the transformation in its entirety.

8:13 PM

Voting has just opened meaning viewers can call up and vote as and when they please from now. Paradise Oskar representing Finland is up first and he is currently giving a beautiful performance representing his home country. The young talent has a brilliant voice and he has the look of a future star. He is very charismatic, smiling and singing a great folk style.

8:17

Paradise Oskar has just finished performing. Graham Norton makes a joke about Lordi, Finland's last winning entrant. Bosnia's entrant is up next with their entrant, Dino Merlin with Love In Rewind. Dino is an aging Bosnian. The official name of the country's entrant is Bosnia & Herzgavina. The singer is giving a beautiful performance, he has a phenominal voice and a very unique singing style. It is upbeat with a hint of folk with some great lyrics and the entire band is dancing along with them. They are having a really good time evidently. This is a really catchy song.

8:21

Denmark's entrant is up next. A friend in London with a song called New Tomorrow. They are off to a very good start. It has an indie feel to it. The lyrics are very powerful. Graham Norton stated that the song is currently in third place. Voters should consider voting for this song.

8:25 PM

Lithuania's entrant is up next. Evalina Sasenka with Cest Ma Vie. There is a beautiful piano start to this song and her vocals are beautiful. She received a standing ovation for this song, it was flawless.

8:29 PM

Hungary is up next with Kati Wolf and What About My Dreams. This was described as retro pop and she certainly has the voice and the music style to match that description. Her name is pronounced Kat-EE. There is a vintage dance theme to this but it sounds more mid 90's than anything.

8:33 PM

Ireland's entrant is up next and it is none other than Jedward. Jedward have actually came a long way since their X-Factor days and they are true entertainers, like them or not. They are fairing better than they have ever done in the past. Jedward are sporting red costumes. The song is incredibly catchy and they are giving their best performance yet.

8:37 PM

Sweden's entrant Eric Saade with Popular is up next. His song has a very vintage pop feel to it, again, another mid to late 90's pop song. He has that kind of voice also. His dress sense is fabulous though. That jacket is awesome. This song is very catchy once it kicks in. He has a dance routine to go with it. This guy has a lot to compare to considering the widely popular Jedward came on just before him. He is doing a good job though.

8:42 PM

Estonia's entrant is up now with another pop song from Getter Jaani with Rockerfeller Street. It has a traditional pop song, she is wearing pink and looks amazing. She has a good pop voice with an early 2000's feel to it. She has a small dance routine to go with her song which feels a little bit like early pop-rock, early 2000's feel.

8:45 PM

Greece's entrant are up next. Rapper Stereo Mike is the support for Greece's entrant, Loukas Yiorkas with Watch My Dance. The song has a nice rock start and has now broken into direct rap. There is a street dance support in the background. Loukas has a great voice, but I think he selected the wrong song to perform. He is not putting his voice to its fullest potential.

8:50 PM

Russia are up next with their entrant, Alexej. He is changing his name to Alex Sparrow for the international market, so from now on, he will be known as Alex Sparrow. His name is Alexej Vorobjov with his song called "Get You". He has a flawless voice and a true star look. He has a brilliant voice, he sounds a lot like the German band, Wolfsheim for anybody that knows of them. This song is very addictive and Alex certainly has a bright future in music with a voice as good as this and he has the charisma and the look to go with it. Keep an eye on Alex, this is the most interesting and intriguing pop hit on the show yet.

8:54 PM

France's entrant is up next and this is apparently the bookie's favorite according to Graham Norton. Amaury Vassili begins singing all alone. He is the simplest act yet, but he by far has the greatest voice of the show so far also. He sounds a little bit like Josh Groban, looks a bit like him to. It is just him singing and a backing track. He has a great look and a masterful voice. no wonder he is the bookies favorite, he probably is the best we have seen so far.

8:57 PM

Italy's entrant is up next with a classic Jazz number. Raphael Gualazzi is the entrant. It is Italy's first time in Eurovision in 14 years. He has a vintage jazz look and this is a classic jazz number itself. This guy sounds and looks brilliant. Think back to the age old classics from such jazz legends as The Rat Pack. Raphael sounds a little bit like that, only more modern. This is a viable throwback to the timeless 50's and he certainly has a bright future in music whether win or lose.

9:04 PM

Switzerland is up next with a former busker. The song is called In Love For a While and the singer is Anna Rossinelli. Anna sounds amazing. Think back to the film "Once" and you will automatically associate this with Anna. She is a former Busker and the guy on bass is her boyfriend. You don't get more personal than that. her voice is amazing and this performance in its entirety is a viable entrant for Switzerland. This lovely lady should be a good contender for the winning slot this year; she is flawless, her voice is a masterwork. A nice, up-beat song from a beautiful, widely talented singer.

9:07 PM

Blue is up next representing the United Kingdom. Music fans may remember Blue from the boyband era of the 1990's and 2000s and now they are back and better than ever. Strobe green lighting to start and a classic pop start. The boys are donning the blue colours and they are giving a beautiful, heartfelt performance. 2011 could be Blue's year as they are giving a great performance representing the UK. It is everything you would expect from the boy band icons.

9:11 PM

Moldova's entrant is up next with a song called "So Lucky". The band is called Zdob si Zdub. This song is very catchy and addictive but their stage attire is crazy. This is the most unique entrant by a long shot and this performance is brilliant! This is very unique to say the least; this is truly a must-see performance.

9:15 PM

Former Eurovision winner Lena is back once again. Lena is singing Taken By a Stranger and is representing Germany. She is getting a standing ovation and is giving a brilliant performance. She was a winner for a reason; this is it. Lets see how she fairs this year.

9:19 PM

Romania's entrant is called Change from a band called Hotel FM. This sounds like another modern day pop hit. Think of bands such as Take That and thats what this sounds like. The singer is from the UK. This song is very good though and he has a good voice.

9:23 PM

Austria's entrant is up next with a song called "The Secret Is Love". The singer is called Nadine Beiler. She has a brilliant voice. She sounds like a mixture between Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston and Gabrielle all rolled into one. She has an absolutely flawless voice. This performance gave me goosebumps. She looks amazing, sounds amazing. It has been a long time since a singer this good emerged. I would actually love her to win, she is absolutely masterful. My favorite so far along with France's entrant. Hard to believe she is only 20!

9:28 PM

Azerbaijan's entrant is up next. Ell and Nikki are the performers with the song entitled "Running Scared". They are giving a very Kate Bush-esque performance during the opening with their dance routine. They are all clad in white. Both Ell and Nikki have great voices and seem to be a brilliant male and female vocal duet. This song is very catchy and sounds like it should be in the charts. They have a lot to live up to following Austria's entrant, Nadine.

9:32 PM

Slovenia is up next with a song called "No One". The singer is Maja Keuc. there is a lot of hype surrounding Maja apparently. There is a beautiful piano introduction to this song. She looks amazing and has a beautiful voice. She has an amazing vocal style. She, along with Nadine, are the best female vocalists of the night so far by a long shot. Maja certainly has a chance of winning with a voice like that but it seems like a bad choice of song for her vocal capabilities. she needs a massive vocal performance rather than a dance-pop hit like this.

9:36 PM

Iceland's entrant is next with a song called "Coming Home". We are now in the final 5. The band is called Sjanni's Friends and they are a piece band dedicated to their friend, Sjanni, who wrote the song and was going to perform it until he so suddenly died. This performance is a tribute, and a very good one at that. They are giving a beautiful, heartfelt performance.

9:41 PM

Spain's entrant is next. Spain have not won Eurovision since 1969. Lucia Perez is singing a song which translates to "They can't take the fun away from me". It is a very upbeat and familiar song. Lucia is giving a great performance.

9:45 PM

Mika Newton is Ukraine's entrant is up next with her song, Angel. Yet another impressive female vocalist that deserves to be placed a lot higher up in this contest. She looks very unique and her song is very impressive. Again, she has some awesome vocal capabilities.

9:49 PM

Serbia's entrant is up next with their catchy pop hit Caroban by the band, Nina. This song is very pink, very flash and very 60's. It sounds like a classic, vintage pop hit. The singer however has an amazing voice, she sounds very 80's in her voice. she would certainly fit well in dance hits. A great entrant from Serbia right here.

9:53 PM

Georgia's song is up next and it is the final entrant into the contest. Eldrine are the band with a song called One More Day. They are wearing peculiar unique clothing but they seem to be doing well. The background riff is very catchy. Eldrine is the final entrant into the contest. They seem very rap-rocky but this is a unique entrant to say the least.

It's amazing that Italy came second!! The song was really outstanding but little bit out of place. In Italy Eurovision is not that popular actually it not popular at all. They realized that they won the second place just today!!As Italian living in London I am so proud!
