Legitimate ways to work online for a steady income

Yes, you can make a steady income online and live off it.

Given the current state of the real-world job market and the fact that everyone is finding it difficult to get a job, even harder to keep a job and even harder than that to actually find enough money to live on, it is safe to say that financial crisis is a very justified phrase to base the world on.

In recent years, a relatively new concept of making money has emerged: The ability to work from home and make money from the comfort of your home.

This is a constantly growing trend on the Internet and new people are always jumping ship to the online realms to taste this new wave of potential money making for themselves. Some people get discouraged and leave without too much effort assuming that it is a scam or impossible whereas others actually find success and wealth.

I personally have been a writer on the Internet for four years this June 2011 and in my time, I have made over $10,000 and have made a legitimate work from home career, thus bringing my dreams to life. How did I do it? Certainly not without its downfalls, its risks and its truly tedious, sometimes heartbreaking moments, but I have done it.

I have actually never had a "real" job because I have never been able to get one. The job market is dead here in the UK. Every penny I have earned has been via online writing.

From September to December of 2010, I was making almost £1000.00 a month. My earnings have dropped since then but I am taking steps to raise them once again and I have no doubts in my mind that with more effort, dedication and of course, patience, I will be able to make upwards of £1000.00 a month once again and continue to live off my work from home career.

The majority of my earnings come from incentive payments. I am a full time writer for Helium.com which pays its writers upfront payments as well as revenue share for your work. I presently have over 3000 articles on that website over a four year period. I have worked through the night, sometimes 24 hours at a time, but the earnings were totally worth it. I managed to by now now-fiancee a beautiful, expensive diamond engagement ring, I managed to propose to her in her favourite place in the entire world; outside of St. Mary’s church in Whitby overlooking the ocean and still to this day, even as I write this, I am presently living solely from my online writing career.

Yes, there are legitimate ways to make money online. It is all a matter of finding the right places to work for and subsequently putting the time, the effort and the workload into a working day and having patience to watch your earnings grow. Take the setbacks and deal with them, stay motivated and passionate and continue to work hard. Websites such as Helium pay incentives for marketplace articles that will work on an assignment system from the end of April 2011. Hubpages now offers its own ad revenue program which is another flawless way of making legitimate money online.

If you have the skills, you can also write for the eHow provider, Demand Studios, which fofer great up-fronts but have strict demands.

Helium.com is great for upfront paid assignments and revenue.

Hubpages.com is great for monitoring Adsense and generating revenue from the Hubpages ad program.

Reviewstream.com is another website that legitimately pays, but their payments are quite low nowadays.

Dooyoo.co.uk. is another legitimate payer. You can ask to be paid by check or by Amazon e-vouchers.

Yes, there are legitimate ways to make steady $$$ online, it is just a matter of having patience and putting the hard work into making your work from home dreams a reality.

So what are you saying?.....that I'm actually going to have to WORK for my money?

Great read, people are so overwhelmed with these get rich quick schemes - it's nice to read these hubs that show us if we keep our nose to the grind stone we can succeed.

Thank you for your feedback, I will edit my Hub to address the whole "get rich quick" scheme trend that often results in people quitting the writing world, thank you for pointing that out, certainly a needed point :)

I have only just joined Hub Pages and have just published an article on my own recent experience of affiliate marketing and working from home. I found your article very interesting. I wanted to publish and sell some articles online and joined Yahoo Contributors, only to learn that because I am not a US citizen, I can contribute but I can't get paid. You have given me some useful places to look. Thanks again. Margaret

You have a spare 3 in the 6th paragraph.(Sorry xx).

Now I have sounded completely arrogant. I will say hello and say I love your enthusiasm for writing. I appreciate you will have worked harder in these last 4 years than any other " real job", so be proud. x

Good honest articles and sharing of knowledges. Thank you. I believe that hardwork is essential in anything that we do. There is no such thing as get rich quick scheme except the ones that dug their hands into your pocket and make themselves richer.

Check out these two articles which I think will complement your contents in a lot of way.

Nice hub.

I've been trying to earn money online for a couple of years through hubpages, squidoo, blogs etc etc.

I haven't earned (a lot) yet - but I've enjoyed every minute of it.

I am convinced though if I keep at it I will eventually earn enough to supplement my full time job. Once I've done that I will take it from there.

I attempted to write for Helium at one point, but there was just too much maintenance involved so I gave that up due to time constraints. I had a good run with Reviewstream for a while until they tried to scam me by first approving my compensation and then taking it back because they decided too late that they don't like the recent reviews I put up.
