Which is better: WWE or TNA Wrestling?
66WWE Vs. TNA: The war rages on
Wrestling fans all over the world are regularly comparing the WWE and TNA Wrestling. This is not exactly a new war. Wrestling fans adore the idea of competition, the very idea of one wrestling promotion trying to out-do another is incredibly exciting and it makes you want to watch both shows each and every week just to see who wins. Perhaps the most iconic wrestling “war” was between WCW and the then-WWF. Now, it is between WWE and TNA Wrestling. Who is fairing best between the two?
The WWE
WWE is very unique in the type of professional wrestling it offers. It no longer calls itself a wrestling promotion at all. It’s wrestlers are called superstars and the action it portrays is called sports entertainment. There isn’t even wrestling in the title. What makes the WWE unique is that it is focusing all of its time and effort into younger, up and coming talent rather than focusing on veterans that have already proved their worth. Some of the only WWE veterans still active today include Triple H and The Undertaker. The likes of John Cena and Randy Orton are no longer rookies, but rather, home-grown WWE talent that were groomed for the main event.
The recent retirement of many WWE veterans including Shawn Michaels, Edge and Batista has left the WWE without many major superstars. However, rather than bringing in older veterans, they have instead focused even more on raising new stars. The likes of Wade Barrett, Daniel Bryan, Evan Bourne, R-Truth, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus are all product of WWE’s youth movement.
TNA Wrestling
TNA has a mixture of veteran talent and younger talent alike. The difference is, TNA isn’t afraid to showcase their veteran talent. Their current heavyweight champion of the world is Sting, a former WCW and TNA champion alike. Sting is currently feuding with Hulk Hogan. Hogan himself is engaged in a feud with Sting, as well as a feud and war of words with Rob Van Dam and Mr. Anderson, more veterans of the ring. Aside from Hogan and Sting, TNA also features Scott Steiner, a former WCW champion who is currently tearing up the tag-team division, as well as Ric Flair, a WWE Hall of Famer who was leader of a TNA faction called Fortune that eventually turned on him after Flair aligned with another faction, Immortal. Flair tapped out to Fortune at TNA Lockdown 2011. Let us also not forget, Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett are constantly tearing the house down in TNA.
Fortune of course consists of the younger TNA talents such as Frankie Kazarian, James Storm, Robert Roode and AJ Styles as well as Christopher Daniels, a TNA legend. Other young talents on the TNA roster include the high flying Amazing Red, Max and Jeremy Buck, Matt Morgan, Shannon Moore, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Desmond Wolfe and Brian Kendrick. TNA also features former WWE youth, Matt and Jeff Hardy as well as the former Dudley Boys, D-Von and Bubba Ray.
So, which is better?
There is no definite answer as to which is better. The WWE Vs. TNA war will always be on, because either side will always have die-hard fans. Some people watch wrestling to see the youth that will eventually become the veterans, whereas others like to see the veterans in what could be their final stand. WWE focuses solely on youth whereas TNA focuses on veterans to build up their youth. It is all a matter of preference. Both promotions offer flawless wrestling action and brilliant storylines, but in general, it is all a matter of what you personally prefer. If you want to see young talent such as ROH standouts Daniel Bryan and Evan Bourne as well as Mexican sensation Sin Cara then watch the WWE whereas if you want to see world famous veterans such as Hulk Hogan, Sting and Ric Flair, watch TNA. Both have their good points and both have their bad points, after all, nothing is perfect.
