Who is returning to WWE in 2013?

Updated on January 19, 2013

Superstars and legends returning to WWE in 2012?

2012 is certainly set to be a definitive year for the WWE, and it could all begin as early as the first Monday Night Raw of the year on January 2nd, 2012 as the WWE is already hyping a huge debut or return to the company on that date, but who is it? There are countless theories in regards to who the mystery person could be on January 2nd, 2012, but perhaps the only thing that excels that particular excitement is the rest of the year. With such huge pay per views as the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 28 around the corner, what huge names could potentially return to the WWE in 2012 and why?

Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho is perhaps the most talked about professional wrestler in the world today as January 2nd, 2012, draws ever closer. It is expected that the mystery man on January 2nd will be Chris Jericho himself. Jericho has been absent from the WWE for several years and it most certainly overdue a WWE return. It is highly likely that the talented and charismatic ring veteran will add a touch of nostalgia to the WWE in 2012, but when will Chris Jericho return? Will Chris Jericho return on January 2nd, 2012, or will he return at the Royal Rumble, or perhaps sometime later unexpectedly throughout the year? Time will tell, but the world is eagerly anticipating the return of The Lionheart!

The Undertaker

Arguably the most famous and recognisable wrestler in the WWE, The Undertaker, has been missing in action since WrestleMania 27 in 2011 when he defeated Triple H to bring his WrestleMania undefeated win streak to 19-0. Will Undertaker return in 2012 to make his streak a clean and beautiful 20-0, or will he return and fall victim thus tarnishing his WrestleMania legacy at WrestleMania 28? There is certainly a lot for the Undertaker in WWE in 2012 considering the return of his masked brother of destruction, Kane, and not to mention the disrespectful youth movement that is overshadowing the already minimal veterans on the roster. When will The Undertaker return to WWE in 2012 and will “The Phenom” arrive in time for WrestleMania?

Shawn Michaels

“The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels may be retired, but so was Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Terry Funk, Rowdy Roddy Piper and countless others. Professional wrestling and its fickle superstars teaches us that people change their mind and that anything can happen. The same can potentially be said for Shawn Michaels who could be on the verge of a WWE return in 2012. Shawn Michaels was retired by The Undertaker, but he has since shown his face during the Kevin Nash and Triple H feud. There is still plenty for HBK in the WWE should he choose to return in 2012 and countless wrestling fans would adore a Shawn Michaels WWE return and potentially even a Shawn Michaels WWE title reign. One more for the Heartbreak Kid in 2012!

Kevin Nash

Kevin Nash has shocked the world so many times in 2011. Inf-act, he is arguably one of the greatest superstars of 2011 and nobody can take that away from the Wiley veteran. Kevin Nash made a shocking return to the WWE Royal Rumble as Diesel in January of 2011 but he then re-emerged in late 2011 and engaged in a feud with Triple H. For months, Nash had the upper hand but finally, “Big Sexy” fell at the hands of Triple H at December 2011’s WWE TLC pay per view. Now, Nash has not been seen since even tweeting he was glad to end it with Triple H and that he was nursing a concussion. However, for Nash, there is still plenty he can do in the WWE in 2012 and a return for Nash would not go unwelcomed; he certainly adds a flawless, charismatic veteran touch to the youth-run roster.

Goldberg

Goldberg, who has appeared to be in phenomenal shape in the media in recent months, could most certainly be on the verge of a WWE return and this is a huge one that would certainly not go amiss. The phenom of WCW enjoyed a very successful career, albeit a short one, but in that time, he certainly became one of wrestling’s most popular and recognisable figures. Goldberg has announced that he is training for a wrestling return, supposedly for charity, but surely, Goldberg could give much more for charity if he donates his 2012 WWE salary, right:? Wrestling fans world over would adore the return of “Da Man” to the WWE in 2012 so Goldberg, give the fans what they want one more time!
